Winter Energies and Happy Holidays

Winter Solstice is tomorrow, and this year marks a special event. A planetary conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter and when they are extra close to each other, it appears like the Star of Bethlehem to many who see it. This has not happened in 800 years they say. The energies are very strong this holiday season, and some believe we are entering the Age of Aquarius. A much kinder, gentler time for humanity. Something that is greatly needed!

Did you ever wonder how all this could affect your pets? The fact that the first day of winter is the shortest day of the year here in the Northern Hemisphere could mean even more snooze time for your critters. If you are able to catch some extra zzzz's yourself, by all means, cuddle up with your pets. Animals are affected by the energies of the planets too, so just be aware if you see any mood changes, etc, that it could be related to the time of year.

Many people are also dealing with Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, during the shorter daylight months. You may even notice your pets acting a little sad or lethargic from the lack of light. If possible try and get your dog outside more during the day just to .get that light when possible. Go for a walk with them. Make the effort to spend more time with your pets and do some kind of play activity with them if you don't already. Make some healthy homemade treats for your dog or cat, if you are so inclined. They will enjoy that!

Of course, those of you who like to ski and ice skate and do fun winter activities, should have no trouble at all including your pet too, right?? I want to wish you all a very Happy Holiday and I hope the new year brings you many blessings filled with love and light. Stay healthy! Take care of yourself and your beloved animals. Til next time...
